The Festival of Lorient Interceltique was born 40 years ago the desire of its founders to contribute to the development of music and culture of Brittany and also open up the nations of Celtic settlement in the British Isles (Scotland, Country Wales, Cornwall, Isle of Man, Ireland) but also in northern Spain (Galicia and Asturias).
The Festival of Lorient Interceltique was born 40 years ago the desire of its founders to contribute to the development of music and culture of Brittany and also open up the nations of Celtic settlement in the British Isles (Scotland, Country Wales, Cornwall, Isle of Man, Ireland) but also in northern Spain (Galicia and Asturias).
This gave him a special place in all the festivals in Brittany, but also national as it has created a place of rendezvous featuring the UK alongside other nations and forge a new concept carrier exchanges: the interceltique.
With its success, the Inter-Celtic has taken the first British and Spanish borders Celtic to move to other places where there is also an introduction, more recently, following the migration of the Celtic British and Spanish. Thus we witnessed the arrival of pipe bands in Australia, players from Latin American and gaita Canadian singers.
